Its all in the close

Despite what training companies tell you, there are only three types of presentations tell, sell and discuss. Sales presentations firmly sit in the sell category, that it, the purpose at the end of the presentation is a call to action, or to address any outstanding questions ready for a close.

Many sales presentations fail as they start with a 10 slide introduction to the history of the company and the dominance it has on the world, which is of little interest to anybody apart from the founder of your company. Sales presentations are about specifying what the problem is, outlining the solution and detailing the next stepd to come to a positive conculsion, which in some instances included timescales and resources.
